Update on The Ethereal Infestance – What’s Next?

It’s been a while since I last posted, and lots has been going on since the launch of Ethereal Malignance in October last year.

Time to share a bit of what’s been happening and what’s coming up.

Since October

Conflux 2023: From 29 September to 1 October, I had the pleasure of attending Conflux 2023, where I served on several panels. It was an amazing experience, full of engaging discussions and meeting so many creative people also sharing an interest of speculative fiction.

Book ReleaseEthereal Malignance (Book 1 of The Ethereal Infestance) officially released on 3 October, thanks to a fantastic number of pre-orders. Your support meant the world to me!

Geek Markets & More: On 28 October, I ventured into the Geek Markets, selling copies and connecting directly with attendees. This was followed by a successful book launch at The Book Cow on 29 October, where about 40 people attended (which was absolutely amazing!).

Community Engagements: I also participated in the Tuggeranong Community Day as part of SouthFest on 11 November and the Diversity ACT Loud and Proud Open Day on 18 November, where I continued to sell Ethereal Malignance directly to attendees.

CanCon Presence: Kicking off 2024, I attended CanCon from 26 to 28 January, engaging with the community and selling my work.

Local Support: I’m excited to share that local bookstores, including The Book Cow, CITSA Bookshops, Harry Hartog, and POP Canberra, now stock Ethereal Malignance on their shelves.

What’s Next

Sequel: I’m deep into the developmental edits for the sequel to Ethereal Malignance. With the manuscript back from my developmental editor, I’m working hard to refine the story. While aiming for an April release, I’m committed to ensuring the story meets the understandably high expectations.

New Artist: I’ve partnered with a talented Finnish character artist for concept art of characters in the book, and I’m going to be working on the cover art with the Ukrainian studio Miblart soon.

Photos: I’ll be sharing photos from recent events and bookstores soon, giving you a closer look at the journey so far.

Your support and enthusiasm fuel my creative journey. I can’t wait to share the next chapter of The Ethereal Infestance with you and hear your feedback.
